What are peptides?
Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the same building blocks that make up proteins, only smaller. The body uses them as signals: messengers that tell cells to repair tissue, release a hormone, calm inflammation or settle the nervous system.
Because each peptide speaks to a specific pathway, they are studied across very different goals: skin and collagen, muscle and recovery, metabolism, sleep, mood and the mind. A small number are approved medicines with strong clinical evidence. Many others are promising but early, supported mostly by animal studies or community use.
A separate class, the bioregulators, works differently again. These are ultra-short peptides of two to four amino acids, developed in Russia from the 1970s onward, each intended to act on one specific organ. Their evidence is largely Russian and rarely replicated elsewhere, so they are graded accordingly here.
This library keeps those worlds clearly apart. Every entry carries an evidence grade, so what is proven and what is still speculative are never mistaken for one another.
